Kansas heat

You ought to be use to that 102!!! What was the heat index? Those hens just won't have to sit as tight!!! Hell, just roll them eggs every few hours. LOL. We still have some snow up high!!! My brother in Wichita is whinning about the heat and he says I do not know what heat is!!!!! I told him that I do know what heat is and that's why I choose to live here!!! Stay Cool!!!! Have one for me until I see ya!!!! Just checked Wichita at 8.30 p.m. 92 degrees, Heat index 115. Still got some snow up High!!!!!!!

the thermometer in the shop said 120 and the high here today was 105 hotsumbeach and i will drink alot of cool ones for ya as long as its like this outside blue and im praying for snow this winter to pointer:cheers:
 
Bleu I must agree that's why I left Wichita as well just to darn hot plus you just can't beat the views, weather of Colorado however I love to go get their birds :) and Chief and I cant wait!!
 
its hot but the damn quail are running around everywhere in Franklin county kansas today! Good Sign! running all over the roads and bean fields!
 
Been warm up nort too. The guy I work with is from Kansas City, "Kansas" he wants everyone to know. I don't know why he is so animent on that. But any way after listening to him for about 8 years. I wanted to tell yall down der that it is "WINDOW" not "WINDA" that you install.:D
 
Yeah it was 138 here today pretty warm too, and I can't drink any cold ones. You guys stay cool and beat the heat, pretty soon it will be cooling off and the leaves will begin to change and bird season will be upon us.

Man, that is good to hear. Speaking of Franklin County, I have a bud that keeps inviting me for BBQ ribs at a place in Williamsburg, Guy and Mae's or something like that. Any good?

Funny you mention that Maynard because that place has the best ribs in Kansas for sure! They are nationally known with articles and shows talking about them all the time! They wrap all their ribs in old newspaper and sell hundreds of ribs a week! Tons of people drive 45 min to an hour from the city just to eat there. I love hunting around Williamsburg bc thats my lunch but not a lot of walking goes on after!

138 f'n degrees? That's enough to make a guy want to shoot some people! Hope all is well in your temporary hell brother. You'll be back in KS to enjoy some 20 degree, hopefully snowy, bird hunting!

Yes, it is a winda. Just like yall need poe-er to run da hater in da weenter time eh! Forgive me, I only started practicing making fun of Northerners recently. I work for Hormel so I get to experience plenty of your Minnesota accent. Norwegians crack me up, especially the ones that are deeply rooted in their culture. I truly enjoy talking to those folks "ya knowww" How boat doze Vikings eh?

Sweating in Portland, it hit 68 F yesterday.

Hope it cools off for you guys in Kansas.

I am going to have to eat there one day soon. My wife loves old fashion chicken fried steak and complains about BBQ giving her heart burn, so our usual stop is the Flint Hills in Strong City. Will be stopping there Saturday for an early lunch and likely Tuesday for the same. If I can keep my wife in chicken frys and fish & chips, she is happy. Been doing that for almost 39 years now.
 
That's most important,keeping the Miss's happy.I've been lucky for 26 years.Althought,it took me a couple of years to firgure that out.:)
 
I bet you Kansas boys are sweating where you haven't sweat in a long time!!!! LOL!!!! At least in western Kansas the humidity is not as bad!!! GCB, hope you are still having cold one's for me!!!!:cheers:
 
Heat index here is 108 right now. I'm wetting down the dog pens about every 2 hours. Not good! Quail start dying at 103. We need a break and the weather isn't showing one for at least a week!!!
