Folks the wife gave me 2 weeks to take a road trip this fall to go bird hunting.
I live 40 miles east of Cincinnati Oh. I was thinking of 2-3 days here and there. Would like to go to Kansas, Oklahoma. MO, Texas.
Reason I say MO is to get to Ok I would have to pass through MO, Texas because it would be close to OK . Kansas and Oklahoma for sure Kansas being on the loop back to Ohio. I have been to MO but never to the other 3.
Thoughts and suggestions of where would be great. I may have a friend joining but if not I will go solo.

Gove that would be great! Thanks for the invite!

you would be smart to avoid Texas, most of the state is in extreme drought status, quail were way down last season, without any significant rains it will be worse....thousands of acres have experienced range fires, burned cattle alive.....save your time and gas.........

Thanks for the update. Texas was going to be a long shot.

There's also that not-so-good news of 21 Kansas Counties being declared natural disasters by the USDA due to extreme drought. :( Sounds like a good time regardless though.

I wouldn't worry to much about these conditions I am willing to bet there are still going to be alot of birds out here in the places where they were last year

Gove I have to go and take my chances. It may be a long time before I get to do another trip.:(

oh i'm sure you will find plenty of birds it just depends on how hard you want to hunt and where you are at I can't gurantee anything becouse it is still hunting not killing but i am willilg to bet this year at least around here there will be more birds than last year providing we can make it through hail season untouched
