2025 Pheasant Season out west/midwest

Understand, for someone new to this forum, as well as learning where one can come out to SD and hunt, I have no time to read between the lines. I'm 66 years old. I'm asking for help mind you, not immature BS. I'm not saying this to be an asshole. I make very little money on retirement, and I'm planning maybe what might be a once in a life time hunt to come out.
 
I really enjoyed my trip to westriver ND last October for the first week of their nonresident pheasant season. I camped at a national forest (grassland) so dispersed camping was free. I saw plenty of pheasants even though I was targeting sharptail. Message me if you want more specifics I'd be happy to share my limited knowledge.

Best advice if you want to learn is go to the SD forum here and read reports from the last three years. Take some notes and you will see some very clear directions become evident. If you expect someone to just say go here, here and here you may be in the wrong spot. Have helped many that have come here with a good attitude and willing to do the research with some specific spots and info and even as far as offering private land access. Good luck with the research and your hunt next year.

I also know to avoid public that is loaded with suburbans and high-brow hunters. Don't pay to hunt. Don't hunt with these video guys. Avoid blue-blood Gucci ranches with pen raised birds. All kidding aside, Montana is tough at times.Crunchy snow,cold,wind.We lost 2 yesterday, private land.Central Montana can be good,but it's a learning curve just like Dakota.Im going back in January.I did see birds last year,but they were very smart!
