Just looked through the flyer and I gotta say I am pretty impressed! If i wouldn't have to work until 5am on Friday morning, i would be down there camping out.

tritronics collar
astro collar
dog beds
rocky and irish setter boots

tons of deals! some deals even start tomorrow online! definitely worth a look!
:10sign:

actually, right now they have the irish setter phantom boot on sale for $99.99 with free shipping. they have limited stock of my size (13), so i went ahead and ordered those already.

I keep looking at the front page of the flyer and wondering what the loop hole is. The first 600 people that line up by 5 am get one of the 6 items shown? Doesnt say have a chance. It says they get one. Theres a rifle, gift card(up to $100), range finder, binocs, couple other things i dont recall. Is the catch that 595 of the giveaways will be a $10 gift card? Says the total prize amt is $8700 I think?

I was wondering the same? I just heard an advertisement on the radio, and it sure sounds like you are guaranteed to get one of those items. It listed them and said "come see which one you get". Pretty crazy if all $600 would get at least a $100 gift card?

A few of the deals are already online. I picked up a Garmin Astro 320 with the DC 40 collar yesterday... $399- this is the cheapest I've seen them since I started thinking about GPS. I bit the bullet and signed up for a Cabela's card so after using the signup bonus and a coupon they mailed a couple weeks back, I paid $359.99 shipped. Hopefully I love it because this is a BIG upgrade from the $10 bell! ;)

You will really like the Astro. It is also a good safety items for the dog.

Thanks. I can only imagine it will make for a happier, more successful dog. He's a big runner and I'm a worry wart who is used to close working flushers... so hopefully this will give me the peace of mind to let him go do his thing. He's pretty good about checking in, but I'm sure he'll appreciate it if I'm not nagging him all of the time. ;)

The other big thing you will find is that when he is on point and out of sight, it makes it easy and faster to find him and get there to flush the birds.

Are those irish setter phantoms good boots? I need a new set of boots both for work as well as upland hunting. My Danner pronghorns are showing quite a bit of wear but wow were they comfortable from day 1. They feel like Nikes , never a blister.

Them deals are good and I got like 600 in points:thumbsup: What to get:)

too late cooty I was at cabelas sun night and bought a bradly smoker. im glad I still have your card # code and exp date. i'll let you eat some ribs off of it Thursday. THANKS FOR YOUR POINTS:cheers:

Perhaps a dumb question but....does the 62s that the astro comes with function as a regular GPS? Does it accept mapping programs and store waypoints? Or is it basically just for use with the collar?

Edit: looks like the 62s is a pretty decent GPS unit. I need a new one and I guess it would be silly to not just get it with the astro? Decisions decisions.

edit again.....i could have swore i saw a astro/62s combo, but i guess not.

In all honesty I have no idea. Cabelas has a 30 day return policy on boots, so if I don't like them, even if I have worn them every day, I can take them back. I tried on some other Irish setters when shopping for uninsulated boots a little while ago and thought they felt pretty close to my danners I ended up with.

I had great luck with my last pair of Irish setters. I just tossed them a couple months ago after having them for 12 years. Between that and the price I figured it was worth a shot.

well I ended up ordering the Astro. I have limited experience with the GPS collar, and in all honesty, I have my doubts that I will like it as much as some, but I wanted a new GPS anyway, so I might as well get one that I can use to track the dog.

It sounds like the Astro is a pretty capable little handheld, so the dog tracking will be a bonus.

I think you will like it. I have two dog, one of which is hunting out of sight a lot of the time, the other is in sight much of the time. When they go on point in cover, or well off in the distance, the beep that they are on point is the only way you know they are on birds.

But most of all, you have the safety of being able to find them if something goes wrong. My guys dog go running without them any more.

that is essentially why I want to have one. I have had a couple instances of not being able to hear his collar and I hate to page him back simply because I cannot see or hear him. I hope to give grouse hunting a try next season and he gets out of sight so quick in the cover.

I got the footwear sale email last week and picked up a pair of Wood N' Stream Moc Upland boots for $69 (just a little more than half of the regular price). They're here already and I'm so thrilled with them that I went to buy another pair before the sale expires next week, but they're out of size 12.

That sale is online only and it looks like their stock is moving real fast.
