Cattails wanted

I am looking for some cattails to use in some stink bait. Anyone have any they could spare?

Wait!!! Is there a trick here I need to learn?

I have not fished for catfish for many years, decades actually. I have six grandkids and would really like to take them all out and try to catch some nice channel cats. I have found a pond in the Kansas City area to take them. Now I need some bait. My late brother had a super punch bait recipe, but it has been over forty years since I made it. Checking some recipes for punch bait, cattails are used for a binder. Figured it is worth a try as the old recipe was difficult to hold on a hook. My late brother said, "Get some of that on your fingers, you might as well cut them off and put them on the hook." It is potent stuff.

If you don't find any sources for cattails, I could put you on the motherload of cottonwood tree cotton next Spring. It's pretty good at binding up air conditioner coils and automobile radiators, so I imagine it could hold your catfish bait together pretty well.

Good luck with your stinkbait, and I hope you get your grandkids some bigguns!
