Duck/Pheasant Combo

Should be a drawing a non-res duck license this year (have preference point). Would making a combo trip to the Leola area be a cluster if I go on pheasant opener? Have always hunted pheasants in Nov. in SD but with having a duck license I want to go ealier.

I drew a wf license my first year freelancing SD and hunted NE where there is plenty of public land with water. If I remember correctly, the peak of the mallard migration is normally mid Nov. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Leola is a good spot. I tell my hunters to look at combo hunts the first 5 weeks of pheasant season.
