Headed west…

Caught a dozen on the ice tonight. Nothing broke 13 inches. Sleeping in tomorrow dreaming of an assault on some longtails. Boat fishing ain’t going to happen as the river is really low and it’s 50 feet over gravel on the ramp and gravel as far as I can see into the water.
 
Hunt went well. Went 3/4 opps. Dog did a fine job today considering the wind we were in. Got 2 in the first place. Should’ve been done quickly. Drove to the second spot and got the last one. Could’ve shot 3 or maybe 4 one the way back to truck. Had to do a big deadhead walk to get around the property to hunt back to the truck. Going back to cabin at Chamberlain after I finish a hamburger in Plankinton. Gonna button up the cabin and head home with the wind forecast. Had a good time.

I wish: I’d be staying if they were some keepers. Barely enough ice to fish on. Overnight temps above freeezing sealed the deal that I wasn’t going this morning. I’m 70 mph winds starting tonight. I’m going home to wifey!
