New a5 20 guage

I read that past report. Here is my experience with the feeding. As a new gun, I tried 7/8oz, 1oz and 11/8oz at first. It did not like the 7/8oz so I when to the 1oz decent feeding but did have a couple of feeding issues out of a full box.
No issues whatsoever with 17/8oz shots. I did not want to be limited on the heavy load so I had a thorough cleaning and shot several more boxes of the 1 oz . no issues. Then this year for a ski shoot , I used the 7/8oz. NO issue.
The gun is working without any hiccups. That's my experience.
I have been told that when you are shooting a new Inertia gun, to run a box of heavy loads through it first, something to do with breaking in the spring. I have done that with both my Benelli’s and my Sweet 16 and had 0 issues.

Reeds Sporting Goods is your best bet. $1637 with a $100 mail in rebate. Plus free shipping and no sales tax I believe. I think I might just order one. I have bought at least 6 guns from Reeds. They also have the 20 gauge Browning Silver for $985 plus 10% off plus $100 rebate plus free shipping. That is a lot of gun for $800.
I bought mine from Reeds last spring for the same deal...love the gun.

There was a good thread on the Upland Journal Forum about issues with the new 16 and 20 gauge A5 feeding malfunctions you might want to check out. I would really like to get a new A5 20 but just hate to pay that much and have feeding issues. Nobody does it as good as Benelli. I bought a new Browning Maxus II 4 years ago and it fails to feed a shell every once in a while. My son used it dove hunting last year and it jammed up a couple of times. It just sets now. My Browning Gold Hunter was my favorite gun because I was so accurate with it, but it gave me headaches. I may send my 1965 A5 20 gauge to Arts and have it totally redone with new wood. I wish Browning was more trust-worthy for me, because they always shoot so well but I prefer the reliability of Benelli.
I have a friend who has a new Benelli, and he really likes it. For me, I don't really like the book of Benelli shotguns, or Beretta automatics. I do like baretta over unders.

That new Montefeltro Ultra Light with a 24 inch barrel would be a sweet upland gun. Put a LM Briley tube in there and it would be money.

I don't really know anything about choke tubes and shells and all that. I I like improved cylinder, in my pump gun, and I have full choke in my automatic. My over under pea shooter is modified and full.

I'm really hoping to get out to South Dakota in January again, and I may buy one of those brownies but I'll probably buy it in Montana because South Dakota has sales tax I think.
