Pheasant Mount Came Out Pretty Good!

I got my WI rooster from December 2022 back this week. Turned out pretty well I think, what do guys think?

I’ve shot 200 pheasants over my golden, but this one crossed all the boxes for the most part of what I wanted (plan to get one over each dog mounted). Color was ok, shot around home on a public wild spot, late season bird and a tail feather crossing 26”, long 60 yard blind retrieve in the cattails, wasn’t shot to shit, had to pull the trigger on making a memory with my buddy.

A nice thing with golden retrievers is they don't chew the birds up. I'm sure there's exceptions, but the ones I've seen hunt have very soft mouths.

Got him hung on the tailgate, I think it looks pretty cool with where I’ve got him. Plenty of room on the other side for another one down the line as well.
