Thanks for all the kind words guys. I really appreciate it. As Miforester said, she was a "Sweatheart". We were probably more attached to each other than any dog I've had. No doubt the most loving dog I've had. It just sucks when they pass sooner than they should.

Sorry for your loss. Cherish the memories. I bet she loved hunting with you and you gave her a wonderful life. That is all we can do.
I lost my lab two weeks before his 10th birthday. I looked at pedigrees, but my main thing was grandparents longevity. Well I guess I missed, but I never. I packed a lot of hunting and love in his time here on earth, and he was a wonderful dog, just like yours. It is your call, but maybe find a started dog and give it a try next year, age is just a number.
