Snow….Webster to Britton?

Looking to make a trip in the next few weeks……just me and the lab. Had a great late October hunt here…..was wondering what the snow situation is from Webster to Langford to Britton?

Been looking on the USFWS snow cover but it doesn’t seem to change.

Check out the SD511 website and look at traffic cams in the area. That'll show you the current snow cover. You can usually see fields in the background.

I was up in the Eden & Lake City areas early last week doing some deer hunting. There was a fair amount of snow; CRP had old snow 50% crusted, and some newer lighter snow which has now likely melted. Walking through CRP was kind of a pain, every third or fourth step I'd bust through the old snow. Upwind side of cover was drifted pretty good. The deer were much more spooky than the birds were. Bring a rifle with; the coyotes are active. I saw 5 during daylight on Wednesday.

I use windy.com to track snow depth in the areas I think about visiting.

i use those 2 and 511 traffic cameras. Cams are not as effective when dark.

Picture from Wednesday of my buddy with the last bird of the day. A handful of miles from the ND border. As you can see not much snow left. Yesterday got in to area with more snow but basically anything that wasn’t drifted is gone.
