Snowfall - It could get pretty tough out there

Only an inch. In area that only had 3-4 inches, that last 40ish degree day was helpful shrinking in back. Still plenty here.
Huh, we got 4'' last night/this morning. Our weather normally follows yours only 10 + degrees warmer by the time it gets here.

I think things gave turned the corner for a bit. High temps to hit 40s Tues and Wedneday, 30s for highs the rest of the 10-day forecast with only one day of single digit lows. Minimal snow chances.
Maybe next Saturday I will get out and check out the cover and food plots.

The cover in the CRP is good now, those native grass stand and bounce back better than brome or reeds canary. That type of cover is flat, and not much of cattails here. Saw a good number of birds. Shot 3, one was full of beans. I saw maybe 3 dozen in the adjacent fields looking to eat when arriving. Food plots seemed to be full of hens, this was around 9:30 Saturday. Public ground might still be OK (the little that is around), depending on the size and what the cover is.

I went out this past saturday on some public just south of the MN border and put up around 60-70 birds. Was tough to get close to them but I was able to get 1 and passed on 2-3 other longer shots that I was questioning when I got back to the truck. I did find a dead dear, well what was left of it. All that was there was the spine and the head, a really nice 8 point I am guessing he will score in the 150 range. It was tough carrying him out along with a bird lol!
