Winter olympics

Watched the last part; everytime I see those competitors, I'm trying to figure how they shut down their respiratory systems and go on battery power when making the shots. :)

Just amazing.

Any athlete who makes it to the Olympic (trial level even) level should be judged alone on their abilities in that field of endeavor.

We got few enough heroes in life today.

Yes,

I have no idea how they shut down there heart rates to make those shots. Amazing feat.

Military snipers go through training to help control their breathing and heart rate so I would imagine biathlon participants do the same type of training.

Yes I very well a tuned into what marine snipers are trained to do when it comes to heart rate and breath control, However we are not usually doing the kind of cardio that these people are doing. just prior to making the shots.

American Erin Hamlin on the Luge was great...first ever Luge medal. She hit 84 mph...yikes!

I thought it was interesting that the biathlon was originally called the military patrol. They shot centerfire rifles at 100m, 150m, 200m, & 250m. Watching them now shoot 50m I am super impressed, I can't imagine them shooting 250m.

I also read that there is another sport called primitive biathhalon. They wear snow shoes and shoot muzzleloaders. Crazy.

USA vs Canada women's hockey game this morning. WOW !! what a game. These gals can play... :10sign:

Canada edged them out late in the 3rd period. Maybe a preview to the gold medal game.

USA Men's start their prelims Thursday.

1st game come and gone. Blowout, 7-1 USA wins easily. Slow 1st period, then they poured it on in the 2nd.

Next up, Russia on Saturday.

Give your twin sister your spot on the biathlon team and you place 64th. If I did that for my brother and he did that I would kick his a$$...

I like women's Curling
