I was out today and shot at a rooster flying hard - he was climbing high and quartering away from me right to left. Well, I shot at 20-25 yards away and thought the shot was good. He didn’t fall or act immediately like he was hit, but I remember noticing that he didn’t flap his wings after the shot. He just sailed the rest of the way and eventually got down I don’t know 100+ yards away. I thought it was a miss and didn’t go after him at the time since we weren’t headed that way. But now, I’m second guessing if I shouldn’t take a search for him tomorrow? Could be a coincidence that he let off the breaks but also doesn’t seem like that’d be the plan of action for him if he’s being shot at.
