Actually, I was next in line, but I forgot why I stopped in there…OW-20 synthetic oil, so I let her go ahead of me and I went looking for oil, which they didn’t have…I returned to the line, and was inferring what was going on, despite cultural and language barriers…thought about it, but was observing the totality of what was going on in the store, and that’s when her dude came in and took care of matters…my son works at a lifetime fitness a block away, we had stopped there to see him and drop off some goodies, as he didn’t make it to the gathering…learning from him about the neighborhood…no real issues from his point of view, just differences…just like you, I’m sure, I’ll help anyone in need, and I do it a lot…more challenging in certain situations, like when you’re not sure about your personal safety…need anything Remy? I’ll have to ship it or Venmo it…my kids help me with the latter. The young guy I met on the side of the gravel road while hunting in SD has become a friend, have had some great interaction with him since then…will host him again next season. Same with MattD’s good friend from Pittsburgh who hunted with me as he traveled through SD and was heading up to the Northern part of the state to connect with Matt and the others…great guy, and dog! Happy to help…enjoy it…cooking pheasant this morning in fact from my last trip and bringing it to a friend whose house (shack, actually) burned down 2/9/25…lives very simply, new place is about done, and he’s in it now…no insurance $, gofund me about covered it…he’s a fantastic craftsman, as is his stepbrother who he’s been living with 1/4 mile away…the guy who lost his house is a real character, super guy…bachelor, no kids…no plumbing or running water in the shack that burned, by design…beautiful sauna, cool outhouse…suspect the new place is the same…haven’t been up there for about 2 months…different way of life, always envied him in a lot of ways…gonna start cooking…it’s my standard sautéed onion, celery, carrot, garlic, mushroom, dry sherry, herbs de Provence, black pepper, cream of mushroom soup, chunked pheasant, baked slow at 275 for about 2 hours, then add cooked wild rice and fold in a healthy amount of sour cream…top with healthy amount of smoked paprika. Pretty good, nobody refuses it…think I covered it all.
